Farewell to Drab – The Awakening of an Office Space

Working in collaboration with the talents of Granoff Architects, JCS constructed the multi-phased 7,000 square foot office renovation located at the reputable address, 660 Steamboat Road.  As general contractor, JCS transformed the space from an architecturally ordinary office to a modern and sleek showcase, taking careful measure to ensure the true showstopper remained the tranquil view of the Greenwich waterfront that sits idly outside the office’s doorsteps.

The most dramatic alteration in the spectacular overhaul was the redesign of the entry. Originally, guests walked through the office’s front door and found themselves in a traditional, but unremarkable lobby.  Now, guests are greeted in a simple, but still awe-inspiring ray of soft white light flowing from the tray effect ceiling with a customized stone wall unveiling the company’s logo in a unique and sophisticated manner.

Walls were removed and glass panels were installed in each office providing an airiness to the office’s interior. Today, natural light streams across the gleaming marble table and soft white leather chairs of the company’s boardroom and some proudly describe the room as “a box of reflected light with a beautiful deep glow.”  Special features like the shimmery gold and silver mosaic backsplash of the coffee bar make the design elements selected even more unique and pleasantly unexpected.

JCS delivered a finished structure made of clear volumes, straight lines, simple shapes, and soft blue hues to emulate the water views and deep green foliage lingering outside every window in the office. Neutral tones fill the serene interiors completing the comfortable and contemporary setting.
